Mechanical Engineer

Position

2Is Inc. is looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented individual to join our Engineering Group.

We reverse engineer and procure mission-critical, weapon system repair parts for the Department of Defense. We are searching for an individual who wishes to apply their engineering and CAD skills to understand the form, fit, function and original manufacturing requirements of a given part. In addition, the individual will develop close working relationships with our Manufacturing Partners serving as the technical interface throughout the re-engineering and production process.

It is expected that this individual will be technically proficient with CAD (Solidworks a plus), and understand the fundamentals of GD&T and its applications to engineering/manufacturing drawings. Exposure to quality control procedures and inspection is also a plus. Accordingly, this individual needs to be a results-oriented self-starter whose sense of urgency is tempered by their concern for the accuracy and quality of their work.

Sr. Engineer

Position

2Is Inc is seeking a Sr. Engineer to further expand our engineering knowledge base for reverse and re-engineering military weapons systems and their subcomponents. The applicant should be technically proficient in the design, development and sourcing of automotive, aerospace and maritime parts. The applicant should also have experience developing and maintaining a supply chain to support a multitude of manufacturing processes such as forgings, castings, tight tolerance machining, fabrication, assembly, electro-mechanical, extrusion and molding.

Hands on experience and deep technical design knowledge of military and/or commercial vehicle and aircraft components and subsystems is a requirement. Personal experience with US Military or FAA source approval processes is a major plus.

Critical skills involve: use of inspection equipment to obtain accurate parametric data, CAD (Solidworks) modeling incorporating GD&T requirements and familiarity with industry standard material and non destructive testing requirements. Broad technical design and manufacturing knowledge is a must as well as the ability to optimize complex design problems and verify those decisions. The primary scope of responsibilities will involve completing complex, mission critical projects with minimal technical assistance. The candidate must also provide technical guidance to other engineers at design review meetings and sign off on final manufacturing drawings. Attention to detail is a must. Additionally, interaction with the customer and supplier on technical issues is a routine part of the position.
